EasyMining joins EU project for sustainable fish farming
EasyMining will provide expertise and circular solutions in a new EU-funded project designed to improve the sustainability of fish farming in Norway's Hardangerfjord.
22 Aug 2024Together with Ragn-Sells Norway, EasyMining is bringing its expertise and circular solutions to a new EU-funded initiative aimed at enhancing the sustainability of fish farming in Norway’s Hardangerfjord.
EasyMining will use its Ash2Phos and Aqua2N technologies to extract phosphorus and recover nitrogen from fish sludge, reducing the environmental impact of fish farming and creating sustainable nutrients for agriculture.
"We are excited to be part of this groundbreaking project, which we believe holds significant promise for nutrient recovery and recycling in aquaculture," says Anna Lundbom, Marketing Manager at EasyMining.
The project, named AquaPhoenix, involves 30 European partners and is supported by a €10 million (120 million NOK) grant from the EU Horizon Europe program. Its objectives include developing and implementing technology to convert collected sludge into valuable resources, especially phosphorus, which can be used in animal feed and agricultural fertilisers.
