Sustainable concrete
Together with partners at BIOFOS, the Technical University of Denmark and Ramboll, EasyMining have conducted a project that can help to solve issues to create a more sustainable future by recycling sewage sludge ash.
The project involves the Ash2Phos process that maximises recycling of phosphorus, separates hazardous substances, and produces a silica sand suitable for sustainable concrete.
The project has evaluated if the silica sand can replace sand and/or cement in concrete. The results show, that the highest potential and CO2 savings, comes from replacing cement. If the sand is milled it can replace up to 20% of the cement in concrete with retained mechanical properties.
